Matthew Healey works with Ghanaian-American Moses Sumney and British GQ Style to deliver a solid profile of the singer/songwriter. Discussing receiving recognition with Stephanie Phillips Sumney says;

If the heat is on for the indie world to open up, it may also be the same for R&B. Grae’s success has opened doors for Sumney to appear in more mainstream spaces, including at the BET Soul Train Awards last November. To have an experimental indie artist represented on a Black awards show is a revelatory moment – one many Black experimental and indie artists have been waiting a long time for. ‘I have straddled a lot of different worlds in my career,’ he says, ‘having been [featured] on a show like Insecure, but at the same time do Westworld and Euphoria, it’s getting across that I could be in a lot of different places. At the core of what I do is soul music. I feel like BET understood that.’

Gerry O’Kane has been enlisted to bring styling with pieces from Heron Preston for Calvin Klein: Season 2. Rounding out the team Hila Karmand focuses on make-up and Ben Jones on hair.

“I feel like I’m in the middle of a social experiment. I’m just observing it all.” -Moses Sumney
