Golden Globes Predictions: Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Natalie Portman?

The Golden Globes are upon us. Recently Vanity Fair made Golden Globes predictions on who will walk away winners. Casting predictions for Golden Globes is notoriously tricky, because just about anything can happen. Golden Globe wackiness is half the fun of watching. That winners are often named for their sheer star power is another reason to watch.

That aside, Vanity Fair is expecting Manchester by the Sea to win Best Picture, Drama. Equally, they’re predicting La La Land to take Best Picture, Musical or Comedy. Actually, that’s pretty much what we’ve been hearing from a lot of sources: these movies have truly got award buzz. Vanity Fair could be playing it safe, but these are respectable predictions. The same goes for Casey Affleck, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and director Damien Chazelle for their work in the above films. Vanity Fair is also predicting a win for Natalie Portman for her work in Jackie, which has outstanding word of mouth.

Finally, we’re glad to see Tom Ford receiving nominations for Nocturnal Animals, even if he’s not expected to win.
